This Week's Counter: Yours Truly (Playhouse Square)

We'd been to all 8 Yours Truly locations, so it was great to hear a new one had opened.  It occupies part of the renovated Halle Building down in Playhouse Square. We stopped in late on a Sunday morning to give it a try.

The very modern and industrial interior has two levels and also spills out into the office building lobby.  The counter doubles as a bar in the evenings, when they probably get a lot of traffic before and after shows at the nearby theaters.

Despite being pretty busy, we were able to get a couple seats at the counter right away. It took awhile to get some attention and get our orders in.  Cam had his YT favorite, chicken and Not So Fries, while Ted had his usual eggs, potatoes and coffee.  The food took longer than expected to arrive. It was generally good, but they didn't get the potatoes well done. Service continued to be less than attentive throughout.

So once again we've made it to all the YT's.  Well worth a visit when you are downtown, to see this really interesting space.  Hopefully with more time the quality of service and food will improve.

Cam says: "More interesting version of the usual YT experience. Service was a bit below average, food was great as always. I'll give it 8 frying pans."

Ted says: "Really interesting interior, great renovation of an old building. Not quite up to YT standards on both service and food, maybe still working out the kinks. Still worth 6 pans."
